The Continence Promotion Committee (CPC) of the ICS are please to announce that the Australian Continence Foundation is the winner of the UroMed Continence Promotion Award for the second year running. This year the competition was for the best newsletter. We received many impressive entries, representing a huge amount of effort around the world. The judges were particularly impressed by the German entry, a very professional full-colour magazine; by the Japanese Continence Action Society's amazing achievement of publishing one newsletter every month for the past 10 years; and by the UK consumer group Incontact's re-launched newsletter. However, the prize went to Voice, the Australian consumer newsletter for its user-friendly presentation, information which is clear without being patronising, and a direct style which was felt to be essential in breaking down barriers and taboos.
The winner receives one all-expenses-paid place at the ICS meeting in Jerusalem. The CPC will have a display of all the entries and we hope in this way that those responsible for putting newsletters together will feel inspired to try new approaches to promoting continence.
