Formation: The Danish Incontinence Society was formed in 1987.
Membership: The number of members is unfortunately small - approx 700:
90 % consumers (patients/carers)
5% nurses and other professionals
5% manufacturers.
Funding: We don't receive regular funding - we try to obtain as much as possible from governmental funding (no luck this year unfortunately) and especially from the manufacturers of medicine and other products.
Activities: The Danish Incontinence Society arranges public meetings approx 2-4 times a year, and our president Dr. Gunnar Lose is our gate-keeper to the academic meetings all over the world. Our main task is the telephone-service as our telephones are open Mon-Fri 09:00 - 16:00 which is part of our service to members and non-members.
